"Sean Barett" is advertising in San Diego "for the summer" on Rentboy:

"Sean's" photos which are real, are a magnet for twink lovers, BUT BEWARE. Earlier this year, when "Sean" was advertising in New York, I texted him, and we engaged in lengthy exchanges in which he promised me the most fantastic time if I would just advance him his fee because "his rent was due" and he needed to get it off his mind in order to focus on having a good time. Because he seemed so sincere, I agreed. We met briefly, and he was not only sincere, but, as advertised, a hot twink. To "prove" his bona fides, he showed me his ID, which in retrospect was fake.

Of course, as an avid member of this forum, I should have recognized the red flags and known better than to agree to "Sean's" request, but he was extremely skillful in his con. This was an obvious case of thinking with the wrong head. Needless to say, he disappeared with the money. To top it all off, he then had the gall to send me the following text with the obvious lessons:

Rule #1: Escorts never give out their real names or addresses.

Rule #2: Never pay until the end.

Rule #3: Trust no one.

And with that, I'm off.

His reminder of these obvious lessons cost me good piece of change. Fair warning, San Diego!

That is what we former New Yorkers call chutzpah.

I'm not sure what showing an ID would say if you've already established that. Plus, even if he showed you his real ID you would have zero recourse. However, it does show something of a good set up operation ie tool to gain your trust.
