A well-reviewed escort is coming to my neck of the woods.

I have been with him two times before and both of them really good. So..I would like to bring a gift. Nothing extravagant. Flowers are good and scented candles are nice.

What was your most unusual small gift or best small gift you received?

A summer weight fancy sport jacket. I recommend Canali as the cut of their garmets flatters a youthful, athletic figure, and my tailor, who apprenticed with Brioni, promoted the brand as the "best value" in off-the-rack better men's clothing. However, forego their "Milano" line and aim for their "Proposta" line or better. Good clothes never an extravagance.

Many young guys are well connected to their electronics. Even with my nephews, its what they ask for routinely. I should by stock in Best Buy for all the gift cards I have bought. May not be the glitziest gift, but I find very appreciated and used.

I've been a foster parent to 4 kids. I never thought I'd be the kind of person who attached finger paintings to my fridge with magnets but that's the person I proudly became! Before I had my own washing machine, we used to trek to the laundromat and the kids and I would do homework or read aloud during wash/rinse/spin. I used to keep my quarters for this purpose in a plastic baggie. For Christmas one year, my youngest gave me a change purse he had made out of one of his baby blankets that I kept on my bed after it got too ratty and threadbare for use anymore but I just couldn't bear to toss it out. I was furious when it disappeared from the foot of my bed and the kid said he'd thrown it away but cried with joy and love when it resurfaced in its recycled form. That was over 20 years ago but I still keep quarters in that little purse and kvell every time I use it. It truly is the best gift I've ever received. I acknowledge how sentimental and silly this whole story is but I've never been touched that profoundly by anything since.

My 21st birthday. I was in the Chorus at the Tanglewood Music Festival in the Berkshires. It had two events:

  1. The entire 120-member Tanglewood Festival Chorus sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" for me. I promptly ran to my room, embarrassed as all hell.
  2. After the concert, after drinks, I had sex with someone Very Important in Opera Circles in Boston ... who was, or would be, director of one of the opera companies.

It was fun. Good for the Ego, too.
