Hey all, a well known escort and contributor is going to be in the same place as me this month.

I found it odd he asked for a deposit in order to get into a session. From what I read here it seems to trend many say take deposit request as a red flag.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Unusual, yes. A red flag, not necessarily. If the Escort is traveling strictly for business purposes, he may want to insure that a new client is a serious client. If the Escort is well reviewed, and you like his contributions here, go for it.

I agree with you, to book an overnight or multiple hours, specially if he has to commute there a deposit to a well-reviewed escort would be a great way to show you're for real and reserve the time.

If a World Class escort posts travel plans to a city near me and asks for a deposit to secure my appointment, I have no problem with it. Especially if we haven't met before. His Time is his Business.

Exactly!

They sure deal with a lot of "teasing" out there, why not showing you're a gentleman and truly interested, it's a good thing for the 2 of you.

Exactly! Someone has to make a gesture of trust. I'm not the hottest, fittest, richest, or most exciting guy an escort meets. But, I can be the nicest, most respectful client he's seen in ages. And that can lead to amazing encounters.

This is just a variation from what I said in the companion post about requiring payment upfront at the beginning of an appointment.

As I said in the other post, I think I can count on one hand the number of times a client has not had the money to pay when the appointment is over. So if the deposit is to ensure you will actually pay, it doesn't make much sense to me. Compared to just about any other business I know of, my rate of getting stiffed is extraordinarily low. I figure it goes with the territory, and anybody who does that to me is basically dismissed. Their loss, I figure. Sorry.

What you are asking about - a deposit to get a session - is a different matter, because it could also be used to discourage cancellations. While I've never asked for a deposit, I don't think it's unreasonable, depending on the circumstances. I've never tried to keep track of it, but my guess is my cancellation rate has been maybe 5 % tops. I feel the same way about that as I do about the rare client who plays and then can't pay: it's a business, and it goes with the territory. If I am travelling and have to spend money, like get a hotel room or a plane ticket, that of course makes a difference. If I'm travelling to see a specific client, the easy way to avoid having their cancellation come at my expense is to have them get the plane ticket or hotel room.

I assume you are talking about something briefer and simpler than that. If an appointment got cancelled that was at my place, or the client's place, or some place the client paid for, obviously I was not out any actual money. There have been plenty of times when I was out of town and rented a hotel room at my own expense, and then a client cancelled. But that never really bothered me, either, for several reasons. First, I might have had more than one appointment that day, anyway. Second, even if I didn't, I got to enjoy wherever I was - as in go sightseeing or something. By the way, the quid pro quo to this in my book is that if a client is counting on me to have a hotel room, at my own expense, and then wants me to disclose whether I'm using it to have sex with anyone else that day, it's none of his business. I've actually refused to meet with a few clients who wanted me to get the hotel, and also wanted me to promise I'd only have sex with them that day. It's a stupid request, I think, because it's easy to lie about, but I also just decided that I didn't really want to meet with someone who would make a request like that. Call me touchy feely. After years of this, I did start to get sick of the constant travel and hotel rooms and relying on strangers to come through, which is why I quit doing it. That's the huge mutual advantage of having clients (or escorts) you know and trust.

The worst I've ever been shit on was when I flew to a city to meet a client for a multi-day appointment, and he completely stood me up. To be fair, I'd actually met with the client once before, and he called me and gave me a medical excuse - like he has just been diagnosed with a potentially fatal disease. I didn't tell him this, but I had a gut feeling it was bullshit. By coincidence I actually was able to confirm that when I met another escort years later, and in the course of conversation he told me he had exactly the same thing happen to him with exactly the same client. So I got stuck in a city a few thousand miles from home for a few days, and guess what? I had a blast. I knew the city I was supposed to meet the client in pretty well, so I just rented a car and spent a few days in another city in a neighboring state I'd always wanted to visit, and my unplanned vacation ended with an all night romp with a very hot stud in a sex club. Like I said, I view it as the client's loss. Call me arrogant. I've never used the escort websites where you can just put up the "available here and now" sign, so even if I felt like I had needed to make money to offset the cancellation, I'm sure I could have.

The flip side of this equation is that for years I've spent weeks in places like Puerto Vallarta completely at clients' expense, and I get paid to do so. So in the long run it's a nice line of "work" to be in, to understate it, and it just seems dumb to try to protect yourself from the occasional real nitwit by asking for a deposit.

Um ... can you tell us who he is?

Um, no Gally. Be the nicest, most respectful client your guy of choice has seen in ages. You'll get it then. That's my official answer to your query.

And NO, I won't divulge my "Hidden Gem" without his consent. He's mine lol!
