Been fantasizing about this. Technically the defrauded TLC no?? 99% of their audience hence revenue came from the faith based. (I don't know anyone religious and I don't know anyone who watched their show so that's my deduction) I mean it's not like the Amish shows where the kids were on FB years before drinking tequila and wearing thongs and now they're "Amish" experiencing the world for the first time, the producers KNEW all that in advance trust me. It's TEEE VEEE. But THIS, the ultimate taboo, can't imagine ANY Prod Co having this knowlege and ignoring it it's suicide. I'm sure the Duggars have a sizeable stockpile I mean we know they didn't spend it on clothes or the hair salon. They knowingly covered up and did not divulge vital (criminal) info that would have resulted in their immediate cancellation loss of contracts and end of income. Therefore they obtained their salaries fraudulantly AS WELL as rendered years of syndication and re-run value now value-less. (ok no, it's not the same as a family of Little People hiding that two of them have their legs taped up behind them) But it's in the same ballpark no?? I just feel that the loss of their show and the spotlight of shame they are now under (from the real world not the Fox News Religious Right who are already spinning defenses of them) IS NOT ENOUGH. Sorry, I'm vindictive, I admit that, I'm fluffing over the real victims those little girls, I admit that. I just want those who commit their brand of hypocracy while actually affecting legislation AGAINST "US", to feel a little more pain. (Yah I'm petty too)

they need to be sued by everyone who has a legitimate right to sue them, including the sisters who were molested. Josh should be sued, the parents for covering it up and whoever else had a hand in letting this crime go unpunished. Was it just his sisters he had inappropriate actions with or was there someone outside the family as well?

As I understand it, the statute of limitations had expired. Even if it hadn't, sometimes rehashing things is worse for the victims than justice would be, especially since I assume the sisters he molested are adults now. That their upbringing and treatment pretty much guarantee him a free pass doesn't negate their ability to do what they want with their lives.

I wouldn't necessarily attribute knowledge to TLC. We all know him for what he is now. There really isn't more that can be done unless TLC has some contractual claim.

What might be of more interest is an investigation by state authorities to make sure he is no longer an abuser and understands the concept of consent. Making sex taboo helps fuel this kind of behavior. The parent's and church response sound an awful lot like the Catholic church's response to its child sex scandal: a naive belief in redemption coupled with a cynical bid for respectability.

Just to be clear wasn't HIS sisters they just happened to BE sisters, I believe friends of his sisters/family etc. Re Raven little that can be done. IDK, I do believe contractually there may be a basis for fraud re TLC, they ALWAYS vet the ppl on their reality shows like candidates AS WELL as question them, the same way Miss America ppl don't want to learn after the fact the chick they crowned had 13 abortions etc. IF they intentionally lied regarding any crime (its a standard question) them TLC may have a stand. (which I hope they TAKE)

Now I am not a lawyer but could not the girls who were molested file a Civil Suit against Josh or his parents? How different is this than the whole Jerry Sandusky scandal? Did Penn State just settle with everyone who threatened to sue?

There's some HYSTERICAL articles floating around too re the Mom getting an openly gay member of the crew fired. (THAT is not funny of course but the circumstances and her ignorance and the crew's instructions re how and when (never) to speak to the family is. If I find link I'll post but can't remember where I read it, prolly was a link to an article on someone's FB.

If you select people based on their self-proclaimed religious propriety, you will always be disappointed. More often than not, religion serves as a mask and and a shield for charlatans, thieves and perverts.

Can I git a amen!?

Every time I catch a glimpse of that show while I am flipping through the channels, I think of all the children in our country in need of families or people to care for them. It seems like such a shame that people feel the need to radically procreate when there are more than enough problems surrounding America's existing marginalized children that are at best under cared for...

I don't understand why stupid shows like this are on TV to begin with. TV has hit a new nadir when your primary choices are reality shows about gigantic families, obnoxious families, real housewives of someplace-or-other, bachelor/bachelorette shows, swamp people, moonshiners, eating competitions, and every other random odd job (logging, gold mining, house flipping, pawn shops, etc).

The louder they preach, the more I hear a skeleton rattling around...

Ah yes, a superficial means of appeasement.

I'm sorry but you don't get to both (a) star in a reality tv show and (b) complain about a 'media frenzy.' Pick one or the other.

And Sister Sarah provides!

Appearing on Fox New with Sean Hannity, former half-term Alaskan governor Sarah Palin criticized “the media” for its coverage of the Duggar family scandal, singling out the interview with two Duggar daughters — while failing to mention that it was conducted by Megyn Kelly on Fox.

Although the Duggars agreed to give exclusive interviews with Kelly — spread out over two nights on her Kelly Files — Palin attacked her favorite target, “the mainstream media,” saying the girls were being “revictimized” but without mentioning they appeared on Fox.

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas prison chaplain Kenneth L. Dewitt was charged last week with 50 counts of third-degree sexual assault for allegedly pressuring three inmates at a women’s state prison into providing him sexual favors.

Dewitt based his prison classes on the teachings of Bill Gothard, an influential evangelical minister who is also accused of sexually harassing as many as 30 women under his influence. Gothard has deep ties to former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who opened prisons to his teachings, and the Duggar family, who sent their son Josh to be counseled under a Gothard program after he molested two of his sisters.
