Fello Ab Fab Fans,

The fifth, all new season of Absolutely Fabulous airs tonight on the Oxygen Network.

Go here http://www.oxygen.com/?slot=nav for info.

Also, if you want to cheat and see what the whole fifth series will be about (and I laughed reading about it) go to the BBC Ab Fab site here http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/abfab/vault/index.shtml.

I am kind of pissed though because Comedy Central no longer has Ab Fab and now the show is on Oxygen: Network for Women. IT IS A MAN'S SHOW TOO! And I know SPIKE TV is suppose to be the first network for men but there aren't any naked men on it so I am confused ... this is false advertising.

Don't get your hopes up too high. This season is just so so. Of course it has been aired in London already on BBC1. I guess it has just run its course.

Has it aired already in the states or did you see it already from another source?

Tonight's episode was funny. However, the first season will always be a classic.

The pool in her bathroom and the multi-tasking shower were over the top.

And, for some reason, I went to three Che Guevara websites because I think the picture of Guevara in her kitchen/living room did something subconsciously to me.

I'm just happy that AbFab is back :)

The first episode on Oxygen was pretty funny, but painfully obvious that both Jennifer Saunders & Joanna Lumley were shilling for laughs. It almost seemed as if they were overtly accentuating their jokes with turns to eachother (and the 'audience') to let people know when to laugh. Very odd.

I've always found AbFab's use of celebrities to be pretty darn funny, mainly because they skew them a bit, making them seem more human in the longrun. Emma Bunton (aka, Baby Spice) was a huge part of this first episode and honestly didn't do too badly considering who she played up against. Here's looking foward to a cameo by Elton John later in the season. One celebrity that Jennifer Saunders has always tried to get on the show has been Madonna, who has said in the past that she'd never appear on AbFab due to not wanting to be the 'butt of the joke.' Interesting, eh?

Loved watching Bubble/Katy Grin again... Seemed to me that Bubble has a little edge to her character now. Very funny. It was nice to hear some of today's pop-culture thrown around on the show, as i've been watching & rewatching the old seasons and was getting sick of hearing about 'New Labor' and 'Pop-Specs.' lol.

Ah, can't forget Eddie's newly styled house. It's always a treat to watch how she redecorates every five minutes... Nice colors.

Missing in action: Serge? Midge? Magda? Bo & Marshall?

Now i've got something to program into my TiVo :)

Warmest Always,

Hello Ben!

>she'd never appear on AbFab due to not wanting to be the 'butt

>of the joke.' Interesting, eh?

I never knew Madonna said that. Thanks for that great info. I saw Madonna on Letterman last night and it seems she is taking herself way too seriously. Going on AbFab would do her some good. I mean she kissed Spears .... Ab Fab would be a step up.

Lulu's career seemed to get a little gas from being on Ab Fab.

> Loved watching Bubble/Katy Grin again... Seemed to me that

I noticed that too! It is fun to see her with meanness in her. She gave Patsy a run for her money.

I want her shower!

I think the funniest part of the episode was when she was getting her tan. The directions and comments from both the "bitch" nurse and Patsy were funny.

So Ben, it sounds like you are a true fan. I am very much looking forward to the birth of Saffy's baby.

OH ... and I didn't know Patsy had OCD!

Hearing that there's another season of AbFab afoot is like, for me, finding out that someone just discovered an addition to the new Testament in a cave somewhere in Israel!

I hope that eventually it will be released on VHS/

DVD so that those of us too chintzy to purchase cable will be privy to it's delights.

For those wanting the 'take home' version~

You can already pre-oder the DVD's on Amazon.com. Street date for the release is March 15th.

I haven't been this excited since they relased the 'Holy Collection' of The Vicar of Dibley. Dawn French & Kylie Minogue = Halarious :)

I LOVE the Vicar of Dibley! That show is very funny. "Imagiene Moses looking like a Llama?" LOL I was actually able to get the VHS tapes at a Suncoast Video Store.

French and Saunders was also a funny show where all of this started in the first place.

Always loved the show in its early days, but the first episode of this new season totally sucked. It felt way past its prime, like the ladies were trying to be funny as opposed to just being funny. Missed Saffy for most of the episode, maybe that was the problem. Bubbles was funny, though I disliked the "edge" that she now has. It's again like they couldn't just make her funny, so they had to change her character to find easier ways to make her seem funny.
