First Plus-Size Model to Be Featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

When the annual Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Issue hits newsstands Feb. 9, readers may notice something a little different.

Ashley Graham (27) size 14-16 is making history as the first plus-size model to appear in the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue which will feature an ad showing Ashley in a string bikini for Swimsuits for All. The successful model also has a work out video series.

She says in a statement: "I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too. There is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt."

This is a step in the right direction. It's too bad, though, that she's in an ad rather than the editorial spread itself. To my mind, she's sexier and better-looking than many of the skinnier models the magazine will likely feature -- a reaction I know many men who are attracted to women share. Also, Christina Hendricks is another actress/celebrity other than Marilyn Monroe and J Lo who's admired (and sometimes vilified) for her curves.

Those guys really are hot, and help sell the video.
