This reminded me of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer S4 Thanksgiving episode "Pangs." I couldn't find a clip of Willow haranguing Buffy (or was it Giles?) about Thanksgiving's origins, but I did find this:

Anya also characterized Thanksgiving as "a ritual sacrifice with pie."

 

I really miss that show.
