This was passed on to me today:

As we relax after a day of stuffing ourselves with turkey

and all of the fixings; as we relax and watch football or other TV programs; as we remember our soldiers around the world not home for the holiday, we think to the week that lies ahead. We think about who is on our holiday gift list, or as we start our holiday shopping, we pause and remember December 1st, World AIDS Day.

AIDS is not over, and the number of new onset HIV cases and the number of AIDS related diseases is growing to a new record. The new AIDS cases today are up 60% in young gay men aged 17-25. Please use caution when playing; use condoms; please do not bareback. Just because the disease is not making front page news or people are not dying do to new medications doesn't mean the epidemic is over.

Remember those loved ones who have passed; think

about those living with the disease and remember the

disease is preventable today and it begins with you.
