I'm just curious. Has there been any discussion about a possible sticky thread concerning bogus ads? I realize that it could become cumbersome, but it might make some searches even easier if we as a community are tracking bogus ads and their attached phone numbers. It might also help us weed through some of the more questionable reviews as well.

I'm asking only because I found myself in a position to hire this weekend. I'm refinishing my floors and need to get out of the house for about 12-16 hours. So I figured as long as I was getting a hotel room, I'd treat myself to some company. Since learning how to do image and number searches on Google (thank you S Draker!) I'm dumbfounded by how many ads had stolen pics! At the risk of making a misstep and disrespecting Daddy, there was a recent thread about an escort who is supposedly legit yet it has been acknowledged even by those who claim to have hired him that his pics are stolen. The problem is that the supporters all seem to be newbies and the reviews are first-timers. But while continuing my research I found several long-term ads in NYC that would appear to be bogus.

One ad has pics from a fitness trainer from Copenhagen. While I could believe he might come to NYC to escort he says he's in the city right now but the twitter feed of the actual person would indicate that he is still home in Amsterdam. This goes for a few others using professional bodybuilders and fitness experts pics where they claim to be in the city but their facebook or twitter feeds would indicate they are not.

Weeding through so many bogus ads is infuriating as I'm sure many of you feel the same way. But on top of that, I've begun to question some of the reviews as well since how can I trust a review if I know the pictures used are stolen?

Thoughts?

+1

And google searching pictures is not always a guaranty, they could be using 10 year old pics of themselves.
