It seems the US media is determined to ignore the biggest sporting event held anywhere in the world this year. For example, I had to search through "miscellaneous" on ESPN before I found any reference to the Rugby World Cup. And that's for an event in which both the USA and Canada took part!

So for those of you who have missed it:

In the semifinals England beat France, Australia beat New Zealand.

In the brilliant final last night (Saturday Australian time) England just beat Australia in extra time after the lead had swung to and fro in the last 30 minutes.

About 85,000 turned up to the match in person. Several hundred million watched it live on TV across the world.

Remind me again, how many watched an NFL game this week?

And if you want to know how hot a rugby player is, look at the post a few weeks back of the French Rugby Team's calendar for 2004. Now they're HOT!
