Ellen: An Audience Proposal

A gay man has proposed in his own special way, courtesy of Ellen DeGeneres, and it is guaranteed to make you smile.

 

Benjamin and Justin, of Ford Myers, Florida, got engaged in front of the Ellen Show audience yesterday.

 

Ellen asked audience members to stay in their seats while Benjamin popped the question, as the crowd cheered and Justin said yes. The couple got engaged after one year of being together. Ellen joked: “Well that’s quick!”

 

Following a ground breaking refusal by the US Supreme Court to take up appeals against rulings to allow same-sex marriage in several states yesterday, same-sex marriage is set to become legal in eleven new US states, but unfortunately Florida isn’t one of them.
