Hi guys! I am VERY EXCITED to be doing my first REAL tour there starting may 19. I have been there for one day pop ins before and for fly ins for individual clients but never done a full tour. I am a total political freak so the District totally fascinates me. I am also a history buff and a baseball fan big time so alot to do socially and culturally which i am pretty up to speed on. The reason for the OP is that I would like to know from DC locals and frequent visitors somethings about the market. Things to avoid...be careful of. I have heard about the need to be careful of stings in northern va. Is this still a problem? Are there certain hotels to avoid? neighborhoods? How safe really is the metro? Is it better to cab it alot. ? I am an avid walker . Also how far out from the District do most guys consider , "the local market?" Baltimore is close for example but how much if any upcharge is usual for such a distance there.? I am asking these question of the forum because I am getting inquires like crazy and guys are asking me question that i cannot answer yet. Any imput would be appreciated. thanks guys! http://www.rentboy.com/magicmikey http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop http://www.m4rn.com/magicmikey

Hi Mikey, have a great time in Washington DC! I can answer a few of your questions having visited DC several times a year of the past few years. The metro is extremely safe, but is only open until I believe until 2 o'clock in the morning. So anything beyond that and you're going to have to take a taxi. I've stayed at both the grand Hyatt and the Renaissance hotels, both in downtown DC and never had a problem with either. No key for the elevator, or anything like that. In my experience I've never needed to travel outside of the district for work, there's always been so much local work that the need to travel to Baltimore or Virginia or Maryland has never been there.

thanks Rick. I am getting slammed with people from OUTSIDE the District. That is weird. Perhaps DC folk wait for a guy to ACTUALLY be there before they book. Anyway we shall see as i arrive tommorrow.

Hmm, well I'm not sure how to go about navigating that then. Most of my calls were from guys in the district. When guys called from Maryland and Virginia I suggested that they visit me at my hotel.
