Just wanted to post a reminder that Dine Out For Life is just around the corner. This is a special day where thousands of restaurants around the country set aside a portion of what is made that day and donated to HIV/AIDS charities. As someone who has known folk who are positive and have had just recently had a friend pass in part because of having AIDS and also as someone (me) who has been HIV positive since June 2001 this event is dear to my heart. So please I encourage you all to look up what yummy places are participating and enjoy a good meal for a good cause. Here is the link where you can check what places are participating this year https://www.diningoutforlife.com/

Thank you for this important announcement. Frankly, I was not aware of this great, unique fundraiser. Extremely surprised that Boston has no participating restaurants, but Providence, RI does. It's only a short trip to Providence, so I'm going to get some buddies to spend a worthwhile dinner there

Again, thanks for the posting

Big, that is great that you offer up some cash to help your local organization out. Even if one donated $5 a month it is $5 more than what they had in the pot.

Bos, I double checked on the site and I am surprised that nothing was listed for Boston. I wonder what the reason for establishments not to participate is? But glad you are hopping the state line and enjoying a good meal with friends. I missed last years event due to work but I am happy to see that Nookies in the Edgewater neighborhood is participating. They have some of the best fried green tomatoes ever! And the pot roast is pretty delish as well! COMIDA!

One of the reasons that I thought your post was interesting is because, during high season Tuesday's Angels" has monthly dinners at Mojo's in FTL, which are along the lines of "Dine out for life." Each member that attends is asked to make a minimum donation of 25 dollars. Bringing guys together from the community to socialize and to meet each other is a great way to encourage people to become involved with the organization and to give something back to our community.

Again thanks for your post...
