50th Anniversary-The Beatles appear on Ed Sullivan

February 9 will be the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. I still remember that evening in 1964. When they came on my brother and I went ape shit while our parents sat back and said "Oh my God, look at their HAIR!"

 

Does anyone else care to share their memory of that momentous evening?

I sure do. I was in an all male college and each dorm had a tv room. That evening, everyone in the dorm gathered to watch in fascination for the entire show. Looking back, it now amazes me that a bunch of college guys would do something like that. I remember my parents saying it was just a trend and would never last.
