Asia Faces Condom Shortage

 

Asia is facing a huge shortage of billions condoms, according to the World Health Organization. Unless extensive prevention efforts are undertaken immediately, the region, which currently has 7 million HIV/Aids sufferers -- is set to become the epicenter of the pandemic in the next decade, WHO says. WHO estimates 24 billion condoms are needed throughout the world every year, however only 6 billion to 9 billion actually are distributed, the BBC reports. China's sex industry alone needs 1 billion condoms a year, but fewer than 20 percent of Chinese sex workers use condoms regularly, WHO says.

The condom shortage in China was caused by a clerical error. They've accidently been shipped boatload after boatload of nothing but Magnums.
