Will be visiting New York, primarily for theatre going, for a week in the middle of January. I am familiar with what is currently on the boards for Broadway (Times Square) but have little insight as to shows Off-Broadway that I should consider. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Buyer and Cellar is a must see. Natasha, Pierre And The Great Comet Of 1812 has moved to a tent uptown and is worth seeing if it's still running. Haven't seen but would like to 1) Now You See It (a magic show) and 2) La Soiree (friends enjoyed it a great deal).

Here Lies Love was supposed to move and open up again, but I haven't heard anything.

Buyer and Cellar great fun. If Fun Home is still playing at the Public when you come it shouldn't be missed. Pierre et al Great Comet is wonderful, but the price jumped up to Broadway prices when it moved from downtown. Have you seem Sleep No More? The atmospheric MacBeth? Incredible. A new show based on The Magic Flute at...the Golden Horseshoe(?) is opening soon too....
