Imagine a bobby pin.

Now imagine it wider. And way-bigger, about the size of small loaf of bread. And shaped like...

Well I don't quite know how to describe it further.

But I bought one once, through the mail. It was a little big for me, but I was determined to try it.

I opened it just the way you would a bobby pin, and the stupid thing snapped. The plastic inside lasted exactly 3 seconds.

Oh, well.

Anybody here ever tried one? Or even seen one worn? I sure haven't.

On ssumes that the C string is a fifth below a G string, or a fourth above.

I haven't tried it, but I sure think it will be uncomfortable to wear (at least for me)

Yes, I too assumed that this was a discussion about the viola so I'm glad SD clarified. I think I saw a drag queen wearing one of these in P-town this summer as a part of the costume (yes, really.)

Yes, they are uncomfortable to wear but they are great for those stripping/dancing. Back during my dancing/stripping days during college I'd use these as they were easy and quick to remove. Though the pain with them is that they are also a little hard to keep on so.....

WOW... I don't think I have ever seen anyone wear these, even strippers. I think they would be hard to stay on unless you bent the small piece so far as to stick way in between your cheeks... LOL... if they made it a bit bigger, it would be like having a dildo up your ass.

You are correct to get them to stay on they need to be snug up between the cheeks as a result wearing them can be uncomfortable from my own experience though when I was stripping/dancing customers seemed to like them since they provided minimal coverage prior to taking them off.

Given the initial description, I really thought it had something to do with the viola da gamba... Really!

Yeah, T-backs took some getting used to (and they were NEVER comfortable sitting down!), but these were like a football cup, stretched all the way back and up the butt crack. I couldn't imagine them being comfortable for a minute.

Would you agree that T-backs were awful if sitting down?

Yeah I agree they were awful if sitting but most clothing like this is awful if sitting down, they are made for "showing off" not comfort per se.
