Subject: How are you

My Norton anit-virus reported that it contained a virus. Be careful.

cajun,

This is exactly what I had written about in the other thread. Yesterday I got three more from people I know only from this site. I also got a mailer default notice indicating that I had forwarded the message to another user (unknown to me ) and it was being returned.

I would caution everyone to rethink their use of free mail options like Yahoo, Hotmail etc, since the virus software (my Norton anyway) doesn't cover those mail systems.

;(

Now my question for the knwoledgable tech men... If I shut down my yahoo account and try to transfer my address book (containing only addresses I use from here including escorts, don't I just transfer the virus or since my norton works on my isp mail, will the anti virus pick that up and catch it, or do I have to re do my address book by hand (ugh!)?

;( ;( ;(

The virus doesnt work that way. Email virus is usually sent out by a third party that is infected. The virus accesses the persons address book, and randomly sends the virus with email addresses culled from the address book and placed in the "TO" and "FROM" fields. The email that you got from "Hooboy" is actually from someone else that happens to have you and Hooboy in their address book. I get email-virus all the time from other escorts, Hooboy, and I even even get them from myself. Just realy on your AV software (Norton is a great one) and relax. One of the worst things you can do is send accusational emails to people thinking htat they did someone malicious to you.

Or, you can always buy an Apple computer instead of a Windows based PC. 99.9% of all viruses are aimed at Windows operating systems. They don't have any affect at all on Mac operating systems. And, Macs are way cooler! :p

You're right, most viruses are aimed at Windows, but there are a few that will infect Macs. And Macs can spread the virus sometimes.

But you're beyond right that Macs are way cooler. And Mac users are a much cooler bunch, and typically sexier too! :7
