I will be in Dallas in mid July to see clients, and I am looking at a couple of places to stay while I am there and I would like some advice on hotels.

I am looking at a couple of hotels, which I think are near the "gay" part of town: The Melrose and the Mansion. I think I would like the Mansion better, and my clients would enjoy it more, but I also like the feel of the Melrose, and it seems closer to the action, but I am not sure about the quality of the hotel.

If someone in Dallas reads this, could you take the time and give me a vote on one of these hotels or the other??

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need a hotel that is central and convenient for my clients to get to.

Thanks

I stayed at the Melrose a couple of years ago.

I don't remember much about it but it was a nice enough place, and very convenient for the "gay village".

Most of the staff working on the reception desk at the time appeared to be young gay men, and I bet that if you are seeing clients at the hotel they will very quickly figure out exactly what you are doing. While I don't suppose that either you or they would really care about this, it *might* make things somewhat less discreet for your clients than they would like.

If you desire a larger hotel, I would recommend either the Anatole or the Sheraton Suites on Stemmons Fwy. The mansion is highly overpriced as far as lodging (the restaurant is fabulous, however). Otherwise, there are many "extended-stay" hotels off of Stemmons w/ reasonable rates that are quite nice (full kitchen, separate bedroom, etc...). The Bradford Homesuites and Candlewood suites are 2 examples of them.

The Melrose is a beautiful hotel, and I've been there to see escorts on more than one occasion with no problem. The Mansion is definitely overpriced purely as a hotel, although the restaurant is awesome. Another alternative near the Oak Lawn area is the Stoneleigh Hotel, a little older and slightly shabbier than the Melrose, but still nice and probably more reasonable.

If it's not too expensive for you, I'd definitly pick the Melrose as my base.

BTW stud, your pics are hot. I'm hoping you'll save some time for me when you're in Big D.:9

Good Luck.

The Melrose for sure, The Mansion IMO is over the top. Yes, as said by other posters, the restaurant is the best, and being walking distance from the Melrose, maybe you and a clent will walk there to eat, but I would stay at the Melrose for easy access to the action. Nice hotel.

Glad you're coming to Big D.

Jon,

You would be very well served to stay at the Melrose. It is a very nice hotel. The Mansion is one of the top rated hotels in the country. It is extremely pricey as well.

If you are willing to give up walking distance to the gay area, the Sheraton Suites on Stemmons is very nice and roomier. A lot less expensive also.

I tried to see you once in Austin, but you were unavailable and referred me to another. You were extremely nice and accomodating. I would definitely like to see you when you are here. Please contact me at [email protected].
