Robert VanDamme Sentenced!

The very Popular Porn Star and "Working Guy" R. Vandamme has been sentenced to 10 Years in Europe.

 

I'm thinking his High Profile PORN Film Career did not help..better to keep a Low Profile when Robbery & Assault and other charges were made 10 Years ago....

 

I doubt after a 10 Year Sentence he will be allowed back in the U.S. again.

Wait. So I could be mistaken here...the charges / actus reaof this crime took place years ago(within the past 10..?), still within whatever statute of limitations were in place for the aforementioned crimes in the given jurisdictions...

 

Are we to assume that it was this easy to travel back and forth dozens of times to the United States on porn / escorting trips, while international warrants were in place? God help us! LOL

 

I remember NPR was running a 'specialist' on the radio, back in 2006, talking about changes in airport security / etc. I called in about 45 times and finally got through- he was totting how millimeter wave body scanners would become present at every single airport, and how THAT would reduce terrorism and catch wanted criminals, but at the cost of XXX Billion, implementation country-wide.

 

My response was this- if the primary focus of your statement was the added latent effect of catching 'other criminals'- why not use technology that is already in place, at a cost in the mere MILLIONS rather than billions. When you present an ID to TSA at the airports, it's not run at all to search for warrants, etc. If they actually bothered to do that, they'd be fishing criminals out left and right. Just goes to show that the infrastructure of our country just whips us around easily.

 

Too break for RvD though- I had heard decent things about him. =(

Hopefully he survives his stint in one of the notorious Czech Jails. I'm thinking his Past Performances may be cause for a "Life Imitates Art" Scenario!
