Bad day.

Yesterday when I picked them up, the tornado sirens went off. My sister had already called me, so I wasn't surprised. Freaked out a bit, but not surprised. And it was way north of us. By the time, we got to the hotel, you could see the sky doing some funky shit, but not imminent. I knew my pup was in good hands and it all kind of fell apart before it got to my town. Another day in crazy Oklahoma.

But today... WOW... I left OKC around noon, heading north and the boys left around 1, heading south to the airport. A huge tornado directly hit SW OKC (where the airport is) and Moore before they could take off. Luckily, they are all ok. Justice is on a plane now, but Dirk and Ace are still there.

The news is saying that it is worse than May 3... an F4/F5, 2 miles wide and on the ground for 30 minutes... right thru 2 schools and a hospital, during school hours. Saying the 3rd grade class did not get out.

Scary. Glad that the men I put in this position in Oklahoma are ok and very sad for all the losses today.

Okie

PS... The airport was not hit directly.... but it was too damned close.

Thanks for the report, Okie... we have all been wondering about you and the guys. Glad to know you and them are ok... but what a tragedy, and my thoughts and prayers are with those who have had their homes destroyed and friends, family and relatives die in this awful storm. I am especially sad about the children who have died or have been injured. I saw an interview with a young girl who survived... she told a remarkable story about how she did it, but I am sure she will have nightmares for a long time.

Excellent to know that the boys made it out. The loss of the children is hard to watch. It should make us all pause for a moment and look around and just be thankful that our lives are intact, and to realize how blessed we are sometimes.
