The great screenwriter known for her 50 year collaboration with Merchant and Ivory has died in New York at the age of 85. She won 2 Oscars for A ROOM WITH A VIEW and HOWARD's END. She also won the Booker Prize for her novel Heat and Dust. Emma Thompson said "she was a genius."
