Somehow I missed this film last year but watched it last night. In a word, wow. It brings you into the experience of the 2005 Tsunami in a way that I wouldn't have thought possible. Naomi Watts deserves her Oscar nomination and Tom Holland as her son is simply astonishing (he should have been nominated). That's real acting not like that little girl being told what to do in that awful Beasts of the Southern Wild (which ties Django for most overrated film of the year). I though this movie was so moving and so technically brilliant. It really moved me and choked me up at several points. A real highlight of the movie-going year -- a year which saw a lot of really good films.
