Is anyone planning on mardi gras in nola next week?

I have not heard much buzz about Mardi Gras this year. I wonder if it is because of the super bowl taking up so many hotel rooms and rescheduling some of the parades and functions. I normally always get alot of advance bookings in NOLA around Mardi Gras but this year it is almost total silence. I talked with several escorts who still live in NOLA and they told me the same thing about the lack of bookings. I am actually considering not going but I have not missed mardi Gras since 2000. Wondering if the party has lost its' punch? Hope not! Part of the problem for me is the weather is so nice down here in South Florida.
