Sweet! I was at first kind of confused. There not just remaking it. It's a take off of part of the movie that their expanding on. More graphic too. I loved the original cruising though with Al Pacino. I've watched it like 3 times.

I love that scene where Pacino is hogtied on the bed! (hoping Franco does a believable tribute)

Bleh. Although classical beauty and youth generally are not to my taste I can't argue against his good looks now and his beauty when he was younger. But he's a nothing actor, and an intellectual-poser. Yes he attends Yale. So did Bush Jr. Both bring shame to Yale, frankly.

Cruising was a stunning study of a moment in time, but there is absolutely no reason to remake it, to rehash the outrage, other than their hoping to bathe in the potential controversial glow, which I predict won't materialize.

I remember gay groups picketing outside the theaters when the first movie was made.

Me too! And arguing with friends about it's depiction of an aspect of gay life they didn't thjink should be publicized.

That's why the producers added in.... "this is only a particular segment of the gay community" at the end credits of the film.

The entire movie used on to be on YouTube (broken into several parts) but it kinda disappeared. Only bits and pieces of the film are left. But I checked on iTunes recently and found the video for purchase.

As Phlmuscle indicated, it's not a remake. Franco was intrigued that some of the most sexually explicit stuff was left on the cutting room floor the first time around, and thought it would be interesting in today's more open-minded climate to recreate those scenes.

I understand now. Thanks.
