Japan Introduces The Pumkin Burger

The Burger King Pumpkin Burger contains two slices of kabocha (also known as Japanese pumpkin, which is actually squash), bacon, lettuce, a beef patty and a creamy nut sauce with sesame seeds, peanuts, almonds, cashews and hazelnuts. Also, the bun is supposed to be shaped like a pumpkin — an added touch that looking at the bun we wouldn't have guessed.

The burger will be available for a limited time starting October 26 and will cost about $3.90. You can also get the "pumpkin bomb" version which offers 10 slices of pumpkin (why?) for only about $1.25 more — or just order pumpkin slices as an optional topping for any burger for about $0.75

Would you like to see this "alternative" burger introduced to us Fat Americans ??

I would give it a try. I enjoy trying new things, even if the end result isn't so pleasing. I actually think I would like it. Part of the joy of life for me is to experience something new and different.

I like the concept but I would like to try something veggie based without the beef. So many recipes for pumpkin out right now. Ever try pumpkin soup--delicious

I would definitely try this - but versions: with meat and without on another occasion.

The soup sounds good but I still think I'd prefer it with cream and butter - you only go around once and when you are near the end wouldn't you rather have experienced the pumpkin soup with cream and butter (at least once?!)

If it's only once, I'd gladly accept your offer, Philmusc. However we're talking about patterns here.

I've discovered Orzo pasta after catching a Nigella Lawson cookery show on BBC.

It looks and tastes like rice and is oh so delicious. Being vegetarian, I made an Orzo pasta dish a few nights a ago when a girlfriend popped over for a glass of wine or three

1 x cup of mangetout, 1 x cup of green beans and 1 x cup of finely sliced baby carrots

1 x cup of frozen peas and a half of cup of sweetcorn

Fry in butter until delicately soft. Add in 1.5 cups of Orzo pasta and 2.5 cups of vegetable stock.

Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Before serving, add a cup of very strong mature cheddar or a cheese to your liking.

Serve with a hot crusty roll with english butter

Delicious meal with white wine and scintillating conversation about cock
