I was going to say it's that awful NEW NORMAL -- which after 3 or 4 episodes just keeps getting worse and worse. I'm about to give up on it.

Then I saw PARTNERS. Egads. The worse thing is it's not even funny. More stereotypes of gay men with Michael Urie playing the faggiest, most flamboyant, and annoying gay man on TV. Sean Hayes' Jack looks positively a role model by comparison.

The only reason to watch it is to gaze upon the physical perfection that is Brandon Routh. Sigh. But he plays a very dim-witted male nurse who you don't believe for a second would be in a relationship with Michael Urie's character.

The worst part is ... it's not funny!

I havent watched it, but from your description, Urie is playing the SAME character he did on Ugly Betty ???? (which actually had worn thin by the end of the series).

I've not watched either program and don't intend to for the simple reason that most sitcoms on television now are aimed at not just the LOWEST common denominator but doing it in the LOWEST possible form: To wit: "Two and a Half-Men": "Two Broke Girls"; "Mike and Molly""; "How I met your Mother" Feel free to add your least favourites.

Perhaps sitcoms have lived way beyond their years, much like musical variety shows, they need to die :(

(Although I am a regular watcher of "The Big Bang Theory" which often makes me laugh out loud, but it has also seen its best days, alas as Sheldon might say.)

As far as TV goes these days, I am embarrassed to admit I'm a reality TV junkie, and LOVE the "Housewives" from anywhere. However, for me the biggest surprise of the new season was

666 Park Ave, a Rosemarys Baby inspired horror series. It was slick, styish and really held my attention. I was hooked from the start !

I believe that 'The New Normal' and 'Glee' are both wildly uneven. It's the supporting cast that encourages me to watch 'The New Normal' at some point each week 'on demand.' I hope the show lasts through the year and comes back next year. It's not a great show, but given the situation comedy alternatives more than just okay.

You are safe. It's already been renewed for the season but the numbers continue dropping. My guess is that it won't be back for a second season. The show is awful.

I don't watch sitcoms -- because most of them are far too stupid -- especially with so many great dramas on TV: Dexter, Fringe, Revenge, Homeland, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Elementary, etc. But I wanted to give these two a chance as I hoped for a good show with gay characters. Alas, neither was.

At least in GLEE, which I still watch despite its unevenness, you have truly fine musical performances and some really engaging characters (Chris Colfer's Kurt is the best gay character on TV ever).

I haven't seen Partners. I gave up on The New Normal after two episodes. Like operalover, I kept watching Glee for the music. I found the plot lines started to wear thin. I'll give the new season a shot, but hope they amp up the music.

So far the new season of GLEE seems to be all music and very thin plot lines. The NYC stories are just competely unbelievable. I love Kurt but his job at Vogue? No Way. The loft in NJ? No Way. They jumped the shark long ago but some of the characters are so endearing that you stick with it. The same can't be said of New Normal. The characters are just all assholes, on one level or another.

Even though Brandon Routh is a Major Hunk he has yet to get decent parts! The only thing worth watching is his slight screen time on Partners!

It's definitely a stretch "Partnering" him with the Stereotype from Ugly Betty! But if 2 Broke Girls with the Horse in the backyard in NYC has survived maybe Partners will also! I do like and have for a Long time the character Actress who plays the owner of the Cleaning Service! She towers over the 2 leads in every scene....

I think Brandon's problem is, frankly, he's not a very good actor. But I sure enjoy looking at him I'm not ashamed to admit. His face and hair are just about perfect. And that body is to die for. I'm not complaining. It's the only reason I'm watching. Maybe if New Normal had someone hot on it I'd watch but they are all a bunch of uglies especially that gay pig face guy from Broadway.
