RIP Ron Palillo

Many people seem surprised that Ron was gay, I do not think that this was really a secret?

 

Anyone else surprised?

 

His character in Welcome Back Kotter certainly had some subtle, albeit stereotypical qualities.

I was actually surprised. I never really watched "Welcome Back Kotter" and only saw it a couple of times. I thought it was nice that in several reports I saw, people acknowledged his partner. That surprised me, and it should not have.

To those in the know, his orientation was not a surprise... He was just one of those low-key private guys NOT on Perez's radar.....
