Get excited SMASH fans. Guess who's coming to Broadway (I mean TV) ???

 

Jennifer Hudson will have a recurring role on the new season when SMASH returns.

 

The feisty Oscar winner will play Veronica Moore — a Tony Award-winning Broadway vet who "impacts the lives of Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hilty)."

 

Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement:

 

"This series is a showcase for some of the best musical talent in the business and that’s a fitting description for Jennifer Hudson. Her character will represent someone who reached their Broadway dream but also paid a price for it."

LOVE me some Jennifer Hudson. I cried when she was voted off AI. Seriously. And throughout that year, I kept thinking, "I know she won't win. She CAN'T win. She doesn't have an 'idol' voice; she has a Broadway voice. She reminds me of Jennifer Holliday..."

SMASH Update:

 

Season 2 deets: The first bomb: Bombshell isn't the only only big (fake) musical to make it's Broadway debut next season. Producer Bobby G says:

“The season-two plotline will involve the emergence of a hot new musical that gives Bombshell a run for its money in terms of buzz and Tonys attention.” Also character arcs will be smoothed out....

 

2 Bway Shows ????? How can I keep track.....? Hope this doesnt become a train wreck !
