If there are Gays onboard, you know it will turn out "That Way" ! But I did LOVE the Pillage and Plunder cruise....

I have been on one of the Viking river cruises down the Rhine in Europe. While not promoted as a specific "gay cruise," I would guess that >50% of the staff on board were gay, and there were almost two dozen gay and lesbian travelers in addition to us traveling from all over Europe and the US, of varying ages. No drag shows, male strippers, or circuit party atmosphere, but it was a more relaxing, intimate environment where we were pampered with great food, wonderful wine list, attentive staff, and had the atmosphere to get to know some folks who have become good friends. Almost everything was inclusive: meals, activities, and excursions. In spite of the older age of a portion of the cruisers on ship, everyone we met was polite, engaging, and wanted to have a good time.

In my experience, Windstar is a "first-class" operation.

Thats quite an endorsement considering you were a voyager on the Titanic.... But I DO trust your opinions....

Ha. . .ha. . .ha. . .I live in the country; I ain't buried in it. I date back to the SS United States and the France, which in itself, I admit to be a rather long "time line". Nonetheless, I can recommend Windstar without reservation. Several years ago, I did one of their cruises with a young Argentine attorney-at-law who was doing some work for my partners and myself; he, too, was a fellow traveler. It was a very enjoyable holiday: good sailing, better food and, with regard to the other passengers who were not "gay", the best company.

Gay Friendly & Refurbished Too!

Aside from Windstar being a gay-friendly cruise line (voted in the top 10, again, amongst some of us gays) All three ships, Windstar, Windsurf and the Windspirit will all have been completely refurbished (all public and cabin areas) by this November 2012. Much of it is already completed on all three, such as the passenger cabins and public hallways!

Cruising with Windstar is unlike most cruise experiences you will ever have.

If you're with someone special, (no matter your orientation) adore the beauty of the seas and the ports of call which you will visit, you will never go wrong with Windstar. Impeccable service, accommodations and respect for individual privacy will provide "you and yours" with a cruise experience you will remember for a life-time.

Just recalling my three cruise experiences with them now, brings back memories and experiences that you will never ever find on the RSVP type floating bath and drug house voyages of the "big ships".

It's all what you're looking for when you book a cruise. Hope this might have helped you. Please explore their website for more pertinent information. Also, here is a link to what some people have experienced and reviewed about their Windstar cruise.

Being on-board a ship for 7+ days with nothing other than 3k to 4k other gay men makes me want kill myself before the ship has ever sailed.

I once probably would have pounced on this opportunity (did) but now, not so much.

There is so much more as to who we are. Yet, few value that as being important because, well, you figure that out. It won't be easy or soon, but it will come around to you.

God, I feel so old saying this. I am - but then again I am not.

"OUR" future is in our past. We once lived the lives which those are now experiencing.

What they choose to do with where we have been and where they choose to go with that is now in their hands and their actions now.

We can't control them. We can guide and educate them but how we do that is probably not the key to their success and to all of our future being.

In the end - it will represent everything which we all once had and what we all did with that.

It will become better. OR, it will just continue to be what it has always been.

We all, are responsible for that, somehow.
