I've now met up with at least 5 escorts who used obviously fake or extremely outdated photographs. I only met one who used current photos.

So...this seems to be "The New Business Model."

Can others explain to me why, in the mind of an escort, this seems to be OK? I've heard the theory that if the escort can "catch" enough clients this way--then for him, why not?

I've had a private discussion in which I suggested something petty: that some escorts (like all of us) are regretfully vain. They can't admit to themselves that they have aged. Now--neither can I. I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I recall reading that some very elderly people spray frosting over their mirrors so they can't see their own reflections any more. OK, let us be forgiving and not blame the older escort, because we all get old. But FAKE photos, pulled from male model websites? Is the escort who does this an outright lying shyster, or a very clever businessman?

Feedback, please! And my apologies in advance for this rambling prose--I'm

just mad as hell.

Always, yes to former!

And yes to the latter if you followed through with the appointment and paid the fee in spite of learning the the pics were fake or outdated.

I have only had that happen to me once, and when the guy came in, I told him that he was not what I booked and threw him out without paying him a cent. I should have posted a review, but I did not... please post reviews on those guys BC... we all need to know about the scam artists!

It must be profitable or they wouldn't be doing it. In a large market such as NYC, or if they travel to a new city every few weeks, there is a constant pool of new clients to prey on. I would think they can't depend on regular clients but with a constant pool of new clients they don't need to. An escort using fake photos probably gets 10 times the calls the truthful escort gets. I would bet that at least 50% or more of the calls ends with full payment. They are both lying shysters and clever businessmen.

I've written up reviews on 4 scam artists....one was published, the other 3 are on a queue with Daddy. I anticipate that at least one escort will deny my comments and have explanations that my eyesight or expectations were off-base, or some other bullsh*t...

Travis:

I'll be you are right--that really rings true: fake photos probably DO bring in 10 x the business of a

real photo. How many "male model" type escorts are really out there--a small handful? And my understanding is that their business is handled personally, not through "Rentboy" and not even through any reputable agency. This reminds me of Goldman Sachs: you can't just walk in and invest with them, it is all done privately.

Its obviously a problem for you and others, but I think part of the problem is the "buyer" and the men they are choosing to buy? This seems to happen, if I am reading my posts correctly, with the incredibly Gorgeous and hung guys, mostly europeans who make Broad and amazing claims, and whose pics make you drool and pop a boner. Well perhaps then clients should stick with better known, and reviewed excorts or recommendations? A bait and switch can always happen, byt is less likely to in those cases. Much has been posted about this and it always boils down to "Buyer Beware". And have others have said, if you have been duped, then walk away at the start. Once you procede, its YOUR fault.!

In a court of law, the fault is with the seller. The buyer can't know what he doesn't know; only the seller knows.

Rather than saying "once you procede (sic), its YOUR fault," I think you mean, "Once you proceed, it is your own responsibility."

the prospective buyer has a chance to walk away, but once bought, it's your own damn fault. If the toy don't match the wrapper, refuse to pay!

I would normally agree, except that i have a possibly exaggerated fear of violence. I'd rather pay a few hundred dollars than make a scene. I know some other clients are braver, and one posted a funny story about fooling the fake escort in a clever way to beat a hasty retreat. In most cases, however, I think one is regretfully stuck with the agreed upon fee. I know others will object and attack this statement, but really--I think this is simply the case. "Easily in, not so easily out, said the lobster in the lobster pot."

Thats just semantics bcohen. If you allow the escort into your home, or you enter his, its then Consentual. Your money, your loss, or maybe not if the session turns out well nonetheless.

You cant be Duped, but you can ALLOW yourself to be Duped. A big difference here. and if you really think about it, once hes in front of you, hes no longer misrepresenting. What you SEE is what you are getting. Now its your decision.

The seller is relying on your lax attitude and fear. Call his bluff.

most of my pics are current as of 11/11/11. i usually also snap a day of appointment shot on my i phone and send to new clients so there is NO DOUBT that the product that shows up is the product in the pics. Now, I could use 10 year old pics and probably get alot more interest but what would that accomplish? BAD REVIEWS and a reputation as a scam artist. A good reputation is all an escort has. http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1 "I am about the COCK, not he clock!"
