I went to renew my prescription of Cialis (like Viagra) yesterday after 5 months. Although my insurance company old allows payment for 6 pills at a time, I figured, hey what the F, its good to have on-hand. The clerk told me, with my insurance the 6 pills cost $150. I said "WHAT", thats almost $30 per pill when she said the retail cost would be $180. She said that was correct, $30 per pill, the price had gone up drastically. I asked about Viagra, and she replied those cost $27 a pill.

I guess the govt and medical companies DONT want guys to have Boners????

Here's the question: I see online all the time ads that say Viagra or Cialis for like $5 per pill. I mentioned it to my doctor, and he said, they are bogus and not the same as the Real stuff... But people think they work the same because its mind over matter.

Has anyone ever ordered this stuff online, and what are your thoughts and experiences?

The side effect of those cheap pills might be that your mouth shrinks and you can't suck those large endowments anymore. Worth the risk? Think about it............. Seriously I wouldn't take anything sold over the internet.

If you want a few extra to keep on hand, just ask your physician for samples. Most physicians have a cabinet or closet area where drug samples are kept. He/she may not want to supply you with six, but at least you would have a few samples in original packaging that you know came from the drug manufacturer.

My insurance company allows for 6 Cialis a month for a copay of 20.I don't use them very often but every 4 weeks I refill so I have a stockpile just in case. Also a bottle of six makes a wonderful birthday present for a good friend who has to pay full price at the pharmacy.Keep in mind that Cialis works for 36 - 48 hours.

I have thought about it (I had a thread about it somewhere out there but can't find it at the moment -- the problem with starting too many threads for the galleries).

There are Canadian pharmacies that you can supposedly get the real Cialis (or Viagra or Levitra) from but I haven't taken the plunge yet.

For me, it's about $160 for 9 tablets.

There seems to be some confusion at the moment as to whether or not Viagra will lose it's patent status next year, so if we have any trademark and patent lawyers here, any info they could shed would be appreciated.

What I'm not clear on is if that only applies to Teva Pharmaceuticals or what the ruling entails. On the face of it, it's a stupid ruling because that would put the Viagra patent beyond the date for Levitra or Cialis. But I'm not a lawyer so I really don't understand the full effects of the ruling.

This doesn't answer your original question, but a suggestion which might help: buy a small plastic pill cutter and instead of taking an entire Cialis or Viagra, take half and see what the results are---you might be surprised and your six pills might just last twice as long. Experience? Yes, sir. Definitely safer than swallowing tablets containing who knows what.

Drugs often have multiple patents. There can be separate patents for the synthesis of a compound and then for it's various uses. According to what I have read, the original patent for discovery of the compound expires in 2012, but the 'use' patent for treatment of erectile dysfunction was filed later. (it was originally studied for cardiovascular conditions but then it's erectile 'side effects' were noticed.) The courts upheld the validity of the ED use patent, whcih expires in 2019. Teva tried to argue that the ED patent was invalid - they lost.

A couple of years ago I ordered some Cialis and Levitra from a web site, after asking for opinions in the forum.

I used one Levitra, and it gave me immediate and intense nasal congestion - and it's difficult to have a satisfactory experience (even as an oral top) when you cna only breathe through your mouth!

I never tried the Cialis because I read something about potentially harmful additives in counterfeit drugs from China, and something made me suspicious of the drugs I received.

I just got a Rx for Cialis from my GP last week but haven't tried it. $15 co-pay for 10 tablets.

I would never take any drug from the internet period.

I think that the suggestion that was made about cutting pills into smaller dosages is a good idea (if you can do that with ED meds). I have a friend who is a pharmacist. he said that many medicines cost about the same for different dosages (in tablet form). He told me to get the highest dosage pills and cut them into smaller dosages (works great for Xanax). I would ask your doctor before doing so, but it works with many meds.

Sometimes even medications from the reputable companies/pharmacies can be suspect. I saw a story a few years ago on one of the news shows like 20/20, Dateline, or 60 Minutes of some counterfeit tablets that looked exactly like Viagra. The only way that the difference was shown was through chemical analysis. I think they somehow tracked the counterfeits to a drug ring in China.

Thanks for all the replies, info and suggestions, many of which I have already tried. My medical insurance is basically a Flex Spending plan, which I fund myself. There is NO copay situation, and payments are deducted from a debit card which I fund. Somehow $30 for a Boner makes the boner a little less important to me in the priority list. So until I come up with some other source for the pills, I'll live with my limp noodle... Oddly, its only limp when I have sex with a partner. When I have sex with MYSELF, i am perfectly Fine... Maybe its God's way of telling me I shouldnt subject myself to anyone ? Hmmmmmm !
