TV On Demand Question

Anyone familiar with the procedures of TV's On Demand.

 

I hate it when I'm watching a series on On Demand ... and then halfway thru the season, the show is yanked and no longer shown OD.

 

Where's the best place to complain? To the TV carrier? The network? WIll complaining do any good?

I don't know about the others, but I have Verizon FIOS and they tell you what the date is when it will be removed so you can plan when to watch it.

I'm not referring to an episode that times out. I'm talking about entire series.

 

For example, I was watching "Harry's Law" (a NBC show) via On Demand. The entire season was On Demand last year. The first two episodes appeared On Demand this season ... and then voila, "Harry's Law" was no longer available for On Demand viewing.

 

Likewise, all season I have been watching "Body of Proof" (an ABC show) via On Demand. When I went to view this week's episode, the entire show is no longer On Demand.

 

Frustrating! I guess it's time to hook up the laptop to my TV to watch things online.

I don't KNOW the answer, but I'd suggest starting with your cable provider. I have Time Warner, and I've found On Demand TV episdoes to be very erratic - lots of shows not included, and for most that are, only the most recent 2-3 weeks' shows. I just checked 'Body of Proof' (which I record & watch) - the TW web site says there should one episode (from Nov 15) available but its not. I also think the fact that there were no new episodes the week of Thanksgiving might mean few than usual On Demand. But I can;t 'find any explanation of coverage anywhere on the TW site.
