Act Aware

from: http://www.worldaidsday.org

This World AIDS Day – and all year round – we're asking you to Act Aware. Acting aware means finding out the facts about HIV and using this knowledge to protect yourself and others from HIV infection.

Many people do not understand how HIV is transmitted, how it can be prevented, or the reality of living with HIV today. People living with HIV can also still face stigma and discrimination from society.

Want to do something about this? Visit HIVaware — a fun, interactive new website which provides all the information everyone should know about HIV.

Act Aware this World AIDS Day by supporting our campaigns!

December 1st is World AIDS Day, a day of remembrance across the globe to pause, reflect, and honor those lost to this pandemic and support those living with HIV/AIDS.

As you are aware, in honor of World AIDS Day and to mark the 31st anniversary of the first documented cases of HIV, we have set an aggressive fundraising goal of $250,000, and as of now, we have raised $88,813 of that goal. We also invite you to visit our website today where you may pay tribute to those we have lost, and honor the cyclists, roadies and donors who are dedicating themselves to the fight against HIV.

Thank you Steven for posting....still amazed after decades of this virus how uninformed people really are. Donating to this worth cause is as important as it ever was. We must never forget those who have gone before us.

Steven -- thank you for calling attention to the fact that today is World AIDS Day. Although we have come a long way in the battle against HIV and AIDS, much is still left to do.

And thank you Steven for what you are doing to help in the fight with participating in the AIDS Lifecycle Ride.

Steven still needs more sponsors and help getting to his goal. I urge every forum member, on this World AIDS Day, to think about making a contribution to Steven's ride. These are great organizations involved in this and I urge you to consider making a contribution. You can click on the link in Steven's signature. It's fast and easy. And more importantly, it's needed.

Thank you Steven.

Thank you, Lee and BVB and thanks to all who contributed to this worthy cause so far.

My call goes beyond making a donation, it's about saving lives, act responsibly, fighting the stigma ...

My special thoughts go particularly to those we have lost in this battle and those who live currently with the virus.

You are of course correct Steven -- it is bigger than a donation. But supporting your ride is one way we all have to help those organizations that are out there saving lives and raising awareness. That's why I was only too happy to lend support to your ride, as I will try to do for any other forum member (client or escort) who participates.

Today on World AIDS day I find my thoughts turning to those friends and acquaintances I know who I have either lost or are living with HIV. Although we have come a long way, today is, for me, a day of reflection of what was lost.

Thank you for remembering those we have lost. We cannot replace them but we can honor them by supporting those dealing with this in any way we can. I lost a very dear friend and partner many years ago to this devastating disease. I was a new, young college administrator and John was a handsome Italian Junior with everything I desired and he became extremely close to me. We saw a lot of each other but realized that our current worlds were not right for us (only 5 years age difference) John travelled to Europe, worked in Boston, and finally went to NYC to get his masters. We kept in touch constantly, but there came a time when the communication ended. Several months later, I got a call from hid Mom that John had passed away from aids.

I was devastated then and still am to this day many years later. I hate the fact that this brilliant, loving man was taken away and didnt have the chance to say GOOD BYE!!

RIP JOHN Keep up the great work Steven and others for people like John

Steven. Good luck. I ve just made a donation. Sent you a good luck message but have opted for my name not to appear on the list.

Thank you Zeyfur. Steven is now over half way to what he needs to ride, a bit further from his goal. Hopefully other clients, friends, or anyone who just wants to see their money go to a very worthwhile charity can join the effort to get Steven to his goal.
