Check out http://www.washingtonpost.com weekend section. There are many live music outlets here, in downtown DC as well as close in Virginia suburbs. Someone your age would probably like the 9:30 club. LOL and enjoy!;-)

Yes, that’s assuming that he wants to stand (there are no seats) for an entire show less than 30 feet from a set of massive ear-splitting speakers twice as tall as him. :-) Of course, maybe he'll just go to check out the cute guys.
