British students asked to test condoms

LONDON - British students are being recruited to test condoms, rating them for their pleasure, comfort and performance qualities.

 

The 100-150 successful job applicants will be paid $155 per academic term as they road-test a range of condoms from German manufacturer Condomi.

 

"The condom testers will be asked to give a pleasure rating. They will not be asked to test quality -- that has already been done," Condomi's marketing manager in Britain Victoria Wells told Reuters Thursday.

 

"Test results will be fed back to our research and development department, and we hope that the students who participate will both enjoy the testing and the money, and give us a frank response which we can use for product development," Wells said.

 

She said adverts had been placed in a number of student publications and will run on several student radio stations from Oct. 25.

 

Among the voluntary questions asked of candidates will be: how many partners they have had, how often they have sex and how long its lasts -- with the option to tick various boxes marked from "under one minute" to one marked "1.5-two hours".

Huey, a great thread. Made me a little hard just thinking about it -- even if its not true. The article does bring out one pet pieve I have that I anticipate not all of you will agree with. Here goes:

 

The person administrating this field test is a woman, Victoria Wells. On CBS TV about a month ago discussing high school sex class (the problems of boys going thorugh puberty), there, in front of a full classroom of fifteen year old kids, was this big fat bitch holding up a ruler, gigggling "The average is only 5.5 inches guys, not 7, not 8, just 5.5." And, lastly, in male porn movies, pictures, a model's use of female magazines to get it up for us, is incredibly dishonest to me.

 

Why does a Victoria oversee the condum test, instead of a Victor who would really know how to get some answers. Do we need a woman to do that? Why not a male teacher to discuss male sex with males, or aren't we qualified. It is not a blantant dis-service to those young puberty boys to be taught that a woman knows more about their sex than they do? It that not demeaning to those guys? And, are there no more good looking gay guys, to model for us. Why do we need to look at some hetero trying to get it up when there are hundreds of mr. perfects (who could also us the modeling fee) from our own ranks that we'd really enjoy seeing and being with.

 

I think the use of women and heteros in these cases is disingenuous, dis-trustful, and, in some respects outright demoralizing since it belittles the true richness of our lives. Being gay is for men and about men. We are honest people as best we can be with ourselves and other people. We are not phony. The appearance of females for these situtations, is for some reason to me, phony. There is nothing phony when I handle a guys package, rim and suck him, and hold him warmly to me. I like guys around me. Not women who should not be there and be doing other things. We don't need women reporters in male locker room -- what the fuck is that proving, anyway?

 

Otherwise, I'd love to be included in the test group and to attend the orientation class. Might see a couple keepers there. Be listening for the guys who ask for a size upgrade or for more room in the cum pouch, or whatever that's called, or for a lub innovation on a condum that would permit instant true-love fucking-penetration withou having to look around under pajamas for the Wet bottle. Then, we'd be advancing the art.
