Sad and depressing. I'm all for coming out; I'm lucky to work in an environment where I'm tolerated and even admired by some. However, if I were a pro athlete, I can totally understand the hesitation and reasons for hiding, even moreso than an actor. The hype to be super-masculine (whatever that means!) must be extreme. It's even rare that these guys come out after they retire. Kudos to the man!
