The one thing I most regret in my life is not getting to be with my dad long enough for him to get to know who I am and for me to get to know who he was. So many many times I have wished that my dad was here so that we could share a few beers and shoot the breeze especially while watching a Redskins or Senators game.

 

I watched my dad die an excruciatingly painful death at 57 from cancer as he laid there in that hospital bed crying to see his boys (me and my brother) and they wouldn’t give him some morphine. My dad died rhat night 15 hours before my 25th birthday.
