There are a bazillion to chose from and I know nothing about them. I'm willing to spend around $1000 for one - but would prefer to spend less, of course. Which one is the best value? Also, is it not true that you can edit the video on the computer and make "movies"? Do you then put these movies on a DVD and then copy them to video tape if you want?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Digitally yours,

DIGITAL CAMERA

F cubed,

I have had great successes with SONY and CANON. There are a lot of things I could say but it all depends on if you have a Mac or PC and if you have the software,DVD, and cables to edit. There is a camera that records directly to DVD-R's or CD-R's, but sometimes tape is better. I'm not sure where you are, but I would go or call or look online at JandR or better yet B&H video. B&H is great..and they'll explain EVERYTHING to you and make it work for you...ask lots of questions and let them know you you want to spend and what you want to do...Link is below...If you have any more questions...email me and we can go over specifics..Im not an expert..but I do know alot about it and do exactly what you are looking to do.
