Hi guys,

I'm at loss. I've tried all over the web, and I've found either two years old posts, or - at Utopia - next to nothing detailed about for-pay venues with real fun & play.

I'd appreciate any guidance.

Thanks in advance.

Are you thinking of going to former Saigon or Da Nang or where in Vietnam?

Each city in Vietnam is quite different from one another. It would help to know where you want information.

Vietnam is a pretty conservative society (like most of SE Asia). I didn't really see any evidence of a gay "scene" when I was there. Lots of cute guys though. :-)

I agree with your general conclusion. However, you would be surprised if you went to the right place.

Of course, in tiny towns and villages you will be chasing a shadow.

If you avoid Northern Vietnam as well as small towns and villages, it is possible to find action although you should be careful.

If you are going to Vietnam solely for vacation, forget about any robust gay environment. If you are traveling there for work, here is something you might want to read:

Thanks for the question, imrthr.

I intend to go all over, but am now only in th einitial stage of planning. I'll certainly be in HCMC/Saigon, Hanoi and Da Nang.

I live in Bangkok half the year and know many gentlemen of our persuasion in Viet Nam. It is a nice nice place to visit with a "scene" that while not so obvious to the casual visitor is very much there.

Contact me if you would like some leads! Are you going to be in Thailand as well?

I get emails and information about Gay Asia and the world in general from http://www.stickyrice.ws. Go there! There are websites that are up-to-date about Vietnam and many parts of our world. I used this site and others when I did my third independent trip to parts of Thailand in 2007.

Sorry that I did not write this when you first inquired. I'd forgotten that http://www.stickyrice.ws has a plethora of information.
