I went to a preview performance of a new play, "Go Back to Where You Are", by David Greenspan. It's at Playwright's Horizon, which is an off-Broadway venue on 42nd Street west of 8th Avenue. Greenspan is openly gay, and has a genius reputation as a writer and actor. (He's a member of the cast as well.) The play has several gay characters and explores relationship themes. But it's very talky and also a bit confusing, with many character names thrown about, and one spends altogether too much time trying to sort out the tangled relationships of the characters. Minimalist production, as one would expect of the venue. Some folks might like it. Several of the men in the cast are quite handsome. The most famous name in the cast is Stephen Bogardus, who was in the original Falsettos production as Whizzer.... This is a limited run sort of thing.
