The middies are all too strung out on his new synthetic weed. Undetectable in blood or urine tests. Been the hot topic in Annapolis for several weeks now. We sponsored a mid a couple of years ago who was so obviously gay. A year or so after he was commissioned, he came out to us and was shocked that we weren't shocked. He really had no idea that we knew from Day One that he was on the team. According to him, the gay population at the Naval Academy is much higher than "they" would like you to believe.

 

I was at a dinner last month at the Academy and there was a senior at our table. Was just selected as a Fulbright Scholar (a Rhodes went to a female mid). It was announced that he had a 3.97 GPA. He nearly lost it when I asked him from across the table in a rather loud voice: "So what course did you FUCK UP?" Cute guy, great shape and probably receptive but the opportunity was not there.

Poolboy... glad to know you are into sponsoring a mid... please continue to do so. I have two nephews that are grads of the Academy, and they both have mentioned that having a host family in Annapolis to act as sponsors was one of the highlights of their time there. So, I am sure you could invite a few of the guys to your place for a swimming party... and with you in your speedo, all sorts of things might happen>>> :-) Seriously, I am not suprised that the gay population is larger at the Academy than "they" would like to admit. Thanks for your efforts to support our Navy guys while they are in training. They really do appreciate their sponsors.

It is fun and they DO need a refuge. The first year when they come over all they do is eat and sleep. Plebe year is a real ball buster and has gotten a bit rougher in the current administration. I love to tell them all stories about the real Navy when I was in 30+ years ago.

Just found out - thanks to Google-that today is also Justin Bieber's Birthday as well as that now somewhat aged but still hot hottie Robert Conrad from the original Hawaii Five-O and Wild Wild West and Black Sheep Squadron. Alan Thicke and I born same day and year.

 

Just google your birth date and up pops a list of "famous" people. What did we do without the internet??!!

One of my co-workers sons is a grad of the academy and was on the gymnastics team. And damn if he didn't have a gorgeous body. And I think he's doing a tour on the faculty. Alas he's straight. Sigh.

Glad to know you have stories to tell your mids... but I bet you don't tell them all the stories you have about life in the Navy... but you can tell me some day! And, you couldn't have been in the Navy 30 years ago, as I heard you just turned 40!!!! I know I was told on good authority that you look 40, so assumed that must be your real age.
