Thanks for pointing this out - I hadn't looked at because he's not my type.

I like the look but I'm not sure about putting everything on a single page. I'm also a fan of being able to enlarge a photo, which you can't do here.

But visually, it's an interesting layout.

I think it would be better if it had more info such as rates and a phone number without having to visit another site to get it. I think you should never seen a person off your site to another.

Clever and fun to see something different.

It's certainly more creative than the typical offerings and that in itself can feel refreshing. But, for me, it's too cartoonish with far too many distractions, which is good for Mr. Ryley because the design takes the viewer's attention away from his randy, older, thin-bear looks. Some of the images look heavily retouched or maybe it's bad lighting.

Horizontal navigation has been around for years but it annoys me. I prefer a specific page design because users find it less confusing.

Rarely is anything truly new.

I'm not sure where I've been, but I've never seen a site with horizontal navigation before.

The design tends to be popular with photographers who shoot stories. The idea is to not split up the visual story with separate pages; an alternative to scrolling down, which is standard. You will also see horizontal navigation on some artist/agency websites. Also, some art galleries use it as a way of doing something different from the competition. Artists and escorts have a certain freedom when selling their products. They tend to be at liberty to play, have fun, and break many of the industry "rules" when it comes to advertising and marketing.

Some of you men are so easy to please. I'm sure escorts appreciate that.

Technically it is an amazing site...Unique!

Josh Riley's site is not technically amazing nor is it unique. Josh Riley's html code is about as basic as they come. It's a single page with lots of href anchors. Web design 101. No different than one long vertical page with lots of href anchors to help navigate a long page quickly. The images have a basic roll-over behavior (with no links or embedded video) which simply swaps the stained B&W image with the unstained color version. The RentMen and Rentboy logos don't even offer a link. It's all very easy to do with the most basic web design knowledge. There are no advanced code features utilized on his site.

If you want to talk about a technically amazing site, let's compare everything to the multi-award winning NY Times dot com. There aren't many sites on the internet that offer high-tech features that almost always work like nytimes.com. It's the envy of most high-end web designers because it's feature rich and the features work.

Well there you go, Rockhard, shows you what I know! I guess I am not very technically aware, am I. I stand corrected and put in my place! Thanks for explaining these things to us ignoramuses!
