Joseph...

Do you see most of your movies in the theatre or on DVD?

Posted

I see about 4 films a year in theater the rest on blu ray or dvd

When I started reviewing films and doing unboxing vids on youtube I picked up a few sponsors. Last year I received 4 movies passes in exchange for talking about the films on youtube. A few companies send me blu rays and dvd's after they saw that I was doing youtube vids based on movies. A few months ago I started receiving screener copies of films not yet released on dvd or blu ray to watch and review. I normally Don't like going too the movies due to people talking during the films.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is unboxing?

There is a movie theatre a quarter mile from my apt at the mall so I go like once a week in the middle of the week in the middle of the day to avoid people... specifically other people kids and high school kids.... LOL

unboxing is where i'll take a product and unbox in for the first time on youtube. say for argument sake a new blu ray release. I'll remove the plastic show the back and front cover, the inside and the film itself, In my case i'll talk about the film specs. rating, stars in the film, running time, any extras that might come with it, the audio specs

I hate going to the theater, people are just too rude anymore.

Joe, I have only seen Inception (great on Blu ray) from your list and I would rank it high as well. I have yet to see the others, maybe I need to get Netflix. I have been traveling a lot this year and so there is little time for movies (and few good movies play on airplanes these days).

NetFlix is a wonderful option. They have an amazing selection of new released and alot of gay/lesbian films and foreign films as well.... I use netflix for films I cant get from redbox...

Posted

i use redbox too sometimes. some people think we make really good money off youtube too. I think there's guys like chris crocker and these guys that pull in a million hits from each vid they produce. they make money as a partner with google adsense. but i takes lots of views. I started doing it because I like talking about movies. Other than free tickets free dvd and blu rays and advance screener copys of films iv only made about 11.00 in one year from google.

I don't think id like the King's speech. My first bf wanted to watch that movie Elizabeth, staring Cate Blanchett. It was his birthday so I got it for him too watch. We had a nice dinner, I gave it to him, He put it in and 10 minutes later I was a sleep. I slept through the whole thing.

Can I ask why? I guess I should ask, what is your all time favorite movie?

Posted

I watched the first harry potter film and just couldn't get into it. lord of the rings just looked boring. I have seen so many films no way could i pick one as a favorite.

Some that I tend to watch over and over again more than others. Saving private Ryan, The color purple, Steel Magnolias, Jaws, Aliens I did a count a few weeks ago at the moment I have 310 dvd's and 60 blu rays. id say 70% of my collections devoted too horror

I have seen Color Purple and Steel Magnolias many many times along with Its My Party, which makes me cry everytime I watch it. I am not much of a horror film kinda guy. I had a roommate that loved them so I would do see them with him, but they werent my first choice. Do you have a favorite series in the horror genre?
