Extremist opposition? Call it what it is - an insane cult of personality

There are some things that we should all be able to agree on as humans, just for a few minutes. A chance to mourn the loss of a loved one in peace and dignity, with the comfort of family and friends, should be one of those things. Surely something this cruel could never be the will of a God, even the one these imbeciles claim to worship.

May Elizabeth's children be comforted during this unbearable time in their lives. And may Elizabeth rest in peace.

(CNN) - Members of the Westboro Baptist Church announced Thursday plans to picket Saturday's funeral for Elizabeth Edwards in Raleigh, North Carolina.

And I saw on local news tonight that someone has started a project to form a "Line of Love" to block the Westboro protesters from getting too near the service. (This was done elsewhere recently at the funeral of a soldier.) And even groups who disagreed with her politics have signed on.

I'm sure the good people of N.C. know just how to handle this situation. Bring on the Patriot Guard Riders! The bikers can surround the Westboro psycho-zea lots and "escort them out of the way".

This "church" is sick. They protest our American heroes who have laid their lives down for our country and now they will protest this woman. For what? To advance christianity? Everyone I know (even Christians) believe these people are wack jobs.
