REVIEW - DVD: "Body Heat" + "Flex Appeal" (VistaVideo) - REVIEW

 

There's a subtle (and very nice) difference from director Ron Williams' previous work and "Body Heat" and "Flex Appeal." The high quality of production, the amazing beauty of the models, and the underlying sexuality are all intact -- but Williams has chosen this time to use live-action sound in some of the vignettes, creating an even more intimate mood. There's also much more full-frontal nudity, and this time Williams lets the camera linger, rather than using teasing glimpses created with quick edits. Both changes make these two releases even better than usual.

 

Of course, anyone who has ever enjoyed a VistaVideo release knows that the real attraction is the beauty of the men. There are no disappointments in this bunch -- and every model deserves the title "hottie" in his own right, though each body type and face is distinctive.

 

Ronan, a standout among standouts, is an Irish stud with creamy skin, a beautiful profile, curly hair, and arms big enough to rip through the seams of any regular-size shirt. He shares the screen with Doug, another massively built man with huge arms, perfect abs, and a baby face with defined cheekbones. These two have electric chemistry together in their several scenes together.

 

Kevin contrasts with the rest of the cast with his smooth café-au-lait skin and curly dark hair. He is also the clown of the group (watch the DVD extras and you'll see). The youngest member of the cast is Marcel, a brunet stunner with a perfectly sculpted upper body and a very cute face with a lopsided grin. Blond hunk Dan could easily fit into an Abercrombie & Fitch ad campaign with his chiseled jawline and V-shaped torso, and rounding out the group, Jer, a Canadian man with classic blond good looks, and Lance, a brunet with runway model looks and a killer body.

 

The cast works in a sort of roundelay of mixed up duos, trios, singles and groups. The pairings and groupings are always interesting -- and always erotic. The guys work out, swim, play, get undressed in public places, and generally show off their stupendous good looks, and though the rating my be "R," the suggestiveness is "XXX." -- Martin Cox

In the opening scene, "Frat Boys in Underwear," Williams introduces us to some of the cast by having them strut, one by one, into a kitchen wearing nothing but their boxer briefs. Watching the group bump against each other half-naked while jostling to make something to eat and joking about the relative benefits of mayonnaise as a moisturizer is a fun, relaxed way to introduce the group. It's like the first morning of a long weekend at the beach with a group of relative strangers who are all sinfully sexy.

 

Next, Marcel and Doug have solo scenes, Marcel reclining in bed, and Doug getting naked while sipping on coffee. Then Doug romps in a park shirtless with a huge Great Dane (and he doesn't look at all dwarfed by it), and Kevin, Jer, Marcel and Dan shoot some hoops while showing off their bulging muscles.

 

Next the divine Ronan and the equally hot Doug show off those big guns by having an arm-wrestling match. Marcel and Jer hurl a Frisbee, and then Jer takes a long outdoor shower, pulling off his skintight, wet trunks to reveal a tight set of buns.

 

Yard work, jeans and no shirts -- sounds like a perfect blue-collar fantasy to me, and that is exactly what comes next, with Marcel, Kevin, and Dan working up a sweat while unloading bags of mulch from a truck. All of these guys have incredible bodies, but Kevin's chest is the most outstanding in profile -- his pecs are cut, thick and rounded, and capped off with a pair of beautiful nipples.

 

In the scene that follows, you see exactly how they got that way, as Kevin and Marcel head to the gym to do some bench presses in a scene that practically glows with static sexual energy.

 

Real sexual energy comes next, in an outdoor shower featuring Dan, who first gets his white Calvins wet, and then peels them down, exposing a fat, cut cock. He also turns around for a look at his nicely rounded ass.

 

Then Ronan takes center stage in a tire-changing sequence on the side of a busy highway. Of course, he does it shirtless wearing a pair of ultra-tight jeans (how else would you change a tire if you looked like Ronan?). Ronan is so built that even his muscles have muscles -- which is evident as he does the work (lug nuts aren't that easy to get off, you know).

 

Next up is Lance, who is also on the side of a busy highway, reclining on a bench. He takes off his T-shirt and tries to hitch a ride, but ends up walking home and gets naked immediately, hitting the sack. Even watching this guy take a nap is erotic.

 

Kevin and Dan return for a little outdoor boxing, wearing shorts and gloves, then Jer does a solo pool skinny-dip in which he's face down on a float, showing off his gorgeous ass again. Then Kevin shows up at the same pool, and dives in wearing white boxer briefs. He climbs up on the steps, where his barely concealed package strains against the wet cotton. He turns around, drops them, and reveals a gorgeous ass.

 

Back in the gym, Dan and Doug are having a friendly workout competition (the kind that is often a prelude to something a bit more carnal), and do a lot of posing. In the finale, Ronan performs in a solo shower scene and gives his all, stripping off his wet shorts, fiddling with his uncircumcised meat, and caressing every inch of his buff physique. He towels off, bringing "Body Heat" to an end.

 

DVD extras include: Deleted Scenes (a night posing session with Ronan lit by car headlights with the Miami skyline in the background, and Kevin showing off his martial arts skills); Outtakes; a spontaneous pose-off between Doug and Ronan; and a Behind-the-Scenes featurette that includes interviews with some of the models, Kevin doing his De Niro imitation, a hilarious Krispy Kreme discussion, and some glimpses of VistaVideo employee Aaron, who is looking more studly than ever with a newer, thicker body and ruggedly handsome face.

Marcel and Lance arrive at a beach park and kick around a soccer ball for a while, then the two peel off their jeans for a quick dip in the ocean. Then the scene shifts to Doug, Ronan and Lance poolside, and the three get wet and play around in the water. Then Doug gets out, peels off his wet shirt, and flexes in the sun. Ronan follows, then jumps on a raft naked, relaxing face down as he floats around the pool, his smooth muscular glutes soaking up sun.

 

In the hot shower scene that follows, Lance lathers up and then rinses off his bronzed muscles as the camera takes long lingering shots of his perfect naked body.

 

Doug and Ronan (their rivalry still going strong) go a few rounds with a punching bag while engaging in some friendly banter (I kept expecting them to haul 'em out and see whose was bigger -- and I am not talking biceps here). Doug then has a solo shower scene. His gray underwear clings to his butt and crotch as he gets it soaking wet, then he takes the underwear off. Doug's best features are his huge glutes and quads, and there are a lot of looks at them in this scene, taken from several angles. Back at the house, Ronan and Doug play some blackjack and the sexual tension between them (again) is strong.

 

Next up: Kevin and Marcel, who engage in some shirtless arm wrestling. The next two scenes, "Pool Hall Shirts," and "Pool Hall Skins," involve the guys in some billiards action, then Dan goes outside, gets naked, and relaxes in a hot tub.

 

The adorable Marcel then goes for a waterside jog in a pair of white nylon shorts and no shirt, and takes an ocean side shower in a pair of white trunks through which the outline of his cock is clearly visible. He then joins Kevin, Jer and Dan for a gym workout.

 

Lance and Ronan then take turns getting naked while changing clothes in a public park (oh, those lucky citizens of Miami!). Then Kevin, Ronan and Marcel hang out poolside for a bit.

 

Kevin then takes a bath, getting completely naked and slowly turning in the water for a lot of looks at his delectable backside.
