Over the past few years, the decades old ideal male beauty image is shifting...hair is slowly coming back into fashion...not necessarily on a guys head, but definitely facial scruff and some chest hair and treasure trails are now seen everywhere in porm and modeling. Even one of my local escorts, Ben, is contractually obligated to keep his blond fuzzy body hair.

The androgynous look has all but disappeared in mainstream male media outlets. The hairless can now let it go a little and move into this new manly look. Ot also affords a good opportunity for slightly older men to now appeal in the model circuit.

Despite this shift, grooming and neatness will remain for a while. No return to the totally natural look of the 70s/80s. Yet.

Thanks for the post Kevin. Interesting article. I don't have much familiarity with the fashion industry but came to this observation from the large number of porn and pic posting sites I visit regularly. My observation is somewhat skewed by the sites I tend to peruse but the change in what kinds of gusy and shat they look like has definitely changed over the past couple of years....maybe even more recently.

Thanks for this great news. Lazy vs obsessive grooming fetishism, I'm so over the metrosexual shaving, scratchy chest and pubic stubble, Ru Paul can have it all. Bring on the scruffy hairy alpha males, the natural look, I'm ready for retro, sign me up!

Guess I've been bucking the trend of over groomy for yrs now. I did the whole shave the crotch thing fir a few month but honestly it's uncomfortable and a pain to keep on, and not to mention the annoying stubble. It's au natural for me and never goung back!

Hugs,

Greg

I started shaving all the hair off my chest and shaving the balls in 1998 And never went back. I will admit it's allot of up keep I do it every single day to keep from getting stubble but I like the look and feel much better. However getting an ingrown hair can be a huge pain can sometimes leave a scar

Terrific article. I'm glad too to see the trend toward more masculine men with more scruff and (at least some) muscle...so tired of seeing the skinny, fem twink in all the mens fashion ads.
