Hi guys. It looks like I'm going to be in Miami for the first time in February but will only have 36-48 hours. I'm looking for recommendations as to which area to stay in and also things to do. Since that's such a broad question, I'll elaborate a little. I'm not a big partier anymore but would like to be near a gay area if possible. I don't care about shopping, and I'm not really big on the whole glamorous lifestyle that seems to be the norm down there (especially in South Beach), but admittedly I've never been there. Basically I just want to be able to wander around, do a little sight seeing, and see the highlights of the city.

Also looking for advice on a strip club to visit, or an escort to check out. I'll have two nights.

Thanks in advance,

Terry

Miami is very spread out and the gay clubs are scattered all over the city. South Beach probably has the greatest concentration of gay activity. The gay beach at 12th street can provide some fine eye candy.

Hey Terry, I used to have a place in Miami, it was a condo in a building on the ocean at mid-beach. I would go down five or six times a year and I loved it. Then, I was given a totally new assignment which called for more global travel and I couldn't go as often. I sold a few years before the real estate bust. I am told that the scene is still fun - I always enjoyed the eye candy which can be found everywhere, on the beach, in stores, malls, restaurants and on the street. Going to have lunch or a drink or supper at any of the bars on Ocean drive reveals losts of pleasant eye-candy and more than a few celebrity sightings, if that is your thing. I am a truly average overwieght middle aged guy, and no shortage of guys filirted with me, esepcially waters and hotel staff. Things may now have changed, but in my time there were many attractive escorts and I never had a bad experience. When I sold, some people were telling me there was more action in Fort Lauderdale. Check that out. One of my favorite escorts was Brandan and he is in FLL, but he always came to meet me in Miami, and I think youcan't go wring with him. My info is dated, but hope it helps.

I enjoy the Twist strip bar at 11th and Washington, South Beach. I was there a couple of weeks ago. 10 or so muscle boys. Do a little "dance" in their underwear or bikinis, then wander around the room. Grope them for a buck or so. $20 for a lap dance. Most from South America. Several Americans. Two beautiful guys from Milan. Two gay boys from Moscow. One attractive black guy with a huge dick keeps it hard (in his briefs) all the while. Great way to spend a couple of hours or so, starting about 10:30 pm. Most escort, but they are mostly straight.

I usually stay across the street at Wyndham Garden (formerly Best western, before that Washington Park. Newly redecorated and with a pool. Two blocks to the beach including the gay section. Plenty of good places to eat, all within easy walking distance.

Downtown Miami offers nice hotels and is centerally located. In town, you will have access for metrorail for limited mobility or the metro mover (free) these two can get you around, but not transport you to beach. If you stay downtown, I would not stay north of 40th Street, the two main paths to beach are at NW 36th Street and NW 12th street. Just south of downtown is the Brickell area, international banking area, nice hotels (expensive) but centerally located. Further south of downtown is Coconut Grove, the area is roaming with college students and a decent nightlife, in the grove you will find Miami City Hall and several hotels.

If you prefer to stay on the beach, there is a Marriott Courtyard at like 1500 block of Washington, I would say this hotel is in the middle of it all without being in the beach front location. At that location you are 2-3 blocks from Lincoln Road Mall and that place will make your eyes pop with eye candy and even a gay bar called Score is there. If you will have a car and still prefer the beach, I would stay in the area called Mid-Beach, that is around 25th street and higher, up around 42 or 43 street, there is a Best Western that I think is pretty good, nice location, but not in the middle of it all. I will be riding by that hotel later today so I will look at it and see how I think it is, although I know that area and know it to be a good location. Now if you wanna spend some bucks at hotel, just 2-3 blocks north of the Best Western there at 43th Street area, is the World famous Fountain Bleu Hotel and next door to it is the Eden Rock Hotel. The Eden Rock Hotel is a Marriott property and it is NICE. I had some friends stay there a few months ago and I went to see them and hang out and I must say it had been years since I had been in the Eden Rock, but it was busy and awesome beachfront property.

If I find that Best Western to be lacking when I go by there later today, I will post a correction on here for you.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Any comments as to whether it would be good for me to stay in Fort Lauderdale instead? I have the option.....
