Just MHO, BUT I rather think it's important in these times to come out and be proud. We've all read the recent headlines about teen suicides, bullying, gay attacks and discrimination. Have you been reading the latest rants from NY State gubernatorial candidate Carl Pallidino? Do we really need people like him in political office? I think not! The world may be changing slowly but gay men and women need to continue to make a presence and fight prejudices.

If James Franco isn't gay, well, that's OK, but I still think it's important for young gay men and women to grow up knowing that there are positive and successful gay role models in the world and that they are not alone. Until we beat the prejudice, we need to come out. We should not be ashamed.

Escorts not showing their face and a major celebrity coming out are "apples and oranges."

I'm speaking of those individuals whose influence and behavior display a positive image upon society. Sex workers just simply do not have the positive influence on society that someone in the entertainment, political, medical, law enforcement, military, legal professions, etc. may have.

For decades the gay pride movement has been trying to demonstrate that the person you deal with, work with, ride the bus with, etc are pretty much the same as everyone else. We all work, pay rent, go food shopping, do laundry and all the other daily mundane tasks in life. We shouldn't be discriminated against because of our sexual preference.

Wether an escort shows his face or not is irrelevant in this discussion. As far as I'm concerned the nature of their profession, and their advertisements are all proof positive of their sexual preferences. I'm sure the overwheleming number of escorst advertise with face shots and only a small number without. Sometimes it's just a question on how pretty or not they are.

I'm mostly amazed he's going all over the map (giving man-on-man tonsillectomies, doing soaps, tarting up in drag) and still has a career. Gay or not, you go!
