Next we will be descending into the homoerotics of Johnny Quest and his beautiful friend Hadji. Never mind what may have gone on between Dr. Quest and Race Bannon.

Sadly Jonny is now a strung out, middle aged meth addict who ekes out a living with an occasional guest appearance on The Venture Brothers. Hadji, a successful mid-level IT manager, still cares enough about Jonny to do cameos in support of his acting career. Hadji is something of an enabler, IMHO.

 

After the cancellation of their show, Dr. Quest and Race married. Their marriage was a happy one (although Race is known to have sneeked a bit of strange on the side). Both are now dead, Race having been killed in a tragic aerial accident while saving the world from rogue Lizardmen. I can't presently recall the circumstances of Dr. Quest's death.

Well, to be precise, Race was taped on a public beach in Rio playing around with some hunky, near nude Brazilian boys.

For the record, he denied everything.

A more balanced assessment of his character would note that he was very neglecful of the boys. Without a teleprompter Dr. Quest had trouble remembering the kids' names. He was extraordinarily distant and unavailable to them emotionally. Race was the one who actually raised the kids. His biological father's distain for him may have contributed to Jonny's later drug problems. Hadji, on the other hand, was just grateful not to be on the streets of Mumbai.

 

Think about it, AS. What kind of parent would haul the boys along to battle Lizardmen and such. Dr. Quest got the big bucks from their reality TV contract. How do you think he paid for that fancy lab equipment and the private jet? Precious little was left for the boys.
